What makes TAWCS so different? Educated by a doctor, leveraging our proprietary CLAP system, and utilizing emotional intelligence. We pride ourselves in utilizing innovative systems, techniques, and most importantly, the human connection.
What success stories exist? The students that graduate or experience the TAWCS system, goes on to not only understand the foundations of education, but Dr. Lisa J. Scott believes in empowering our future. We are creating leaders that go beyond the curriculum (e.g., creating the next Greta to Oprah).
Do you all cater towards special needs students? Dr. Lisa J. Scott is well-versed in teaching our gifted students. She has over 20 years of experience, as well as only working with a collective staff that embodies the level of attention she believes every child deserves. Each child’s learning and situation are different, so at TAWCS, we believe in providing that individual experience.
Can I start a program at any time? Please contact us at sayhello@tawcs.org and we can work with you on specific timing, tuition, and what our curriculum entails.
I want my child to socialize, so how is that done with COVID? We understand that times have changed. We also understand the limitations of pure video-based instruction, so that is why we created the CLAP methodologies that engage our students in communities to project-based learning. We do not force our kids to sit behind a screen for 8 hours a day, so rest assured, your kids will leverage technology, not depend on it. We also follow all CDC guidelines, daily temperature checks, COVID screening (in-person).
How many students will you have per grade? 12
How much is tuition? We have a sliding scale that ranges from $12K to $37.5K
Do you provide discounts for multiple kids per household? Yes, we provide a 25% discount for every child after your first one you enroll with us.
What does the day in the life for our kids look like? We follow a traditional school schedule that includes time for English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Language and Physical Education.
How are the arts interwoven into the curriculum? We attempt to integrate art and projects into all of our subjects.
How is the school Waldorf-inspired? One of the major tenets of Waldorf is to learn through experience, this is one of the major tenants of our program.
Are the classes divided by grades or do kids talk to other grade members? We have mixed-age groupings. It is very likely that your child in the first grade will know third graders as well as Kindergarteners. We believe that children can learn from other children, just as they can learn from adults. We are also preparing our students to lead, so there will be many opportunities to do so in mixed-aged classroom settings.
Do you have blended on-site and offline work? Yes.
How many students do you have now in each grade? Projections are to have 12 students per grade.
Do kids go outside or on any trips? Yes, we have daily outings to the park (weather permitting). Trips are scheduled throughout the school year, but again, based on COVID + regulations so that we keep our kids safe.
